Coffee and maple may not seem like an obvious combination, but trust us, it's a match made in heaven. These Coffee-Maple Pecan Scones are a delicious way to start your day, or enjoy as a sweet treat with your afternoon coffee. They can give you the perfect caffeine boost too!

The scones are made with a simple dough that's infused with instant coffee granules, giving them a rich coffee flavor. The maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness and a hint of maple flavor, while the chopped pecans give them a nice crunch. The recipe is super easy to follow and takes only 30 minutes. So how do you make it?

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 cup of cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup of chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup of instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Stir in the chopped pecans, instant coffee granules, and maple syrup. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring until a dough forms.

  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it until it comes together. Pat the dough into a circle about 3/4 inch thick. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 8 wedges.

  5. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet, brush the tops with the beaten egg and bake for about 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Let the scones cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving. You can serve them warm or at room temperature, with butter or additional maple syrup, if desired.
